Conference Table

ThreeH | 2023

Connecting people.

Conference tables need to encourage conversation and collaboration.

This project centred on the idea of mindfulness, which became the lens all decisions were made through to embody flexibility and materiality in the result.

Kynde uses organic forms and an open architecture to create a table that reflects nature and invites use.  The table integrates power in the structure and uses a technical 3d knit held in tension, or veneer panels held in compression, to create the forms of the base.

A Life Cycle Analysis of table top compositions led to the open architecture the table is built around, allowing materials to be swapped out when needed all aiming at prolonging the functional life to the table and allowing material upgrades when available.

A corresponding credenza collection allows space to be punctuated, incorporating plants and a mix of open and enclosed formats along with seated heights to invite short term use and help with over capacity at meetings, furthering the punctuation and increased functionality of the conference room.
